An evening of film, music and discussion, introducing a brand-new filmmaking collective to Bridport.
Chasing Cow is a collective of young, creative individuals based in Bridport. It brings together a group of recent graduates all keen to continue working on creative projects after university.
The aim of the group is to produce a series of different projects – from narrative short films and radio dramas to video essays – that draw from their diverse interests and talents. Working independently of the film and television industry and market forces gives the group’s members creative control as well as the space and freedom to experiment and learn new skills and disciplines.
At the Lyric Theatre, Chasing Cow will be screening ‘Refuse', a short ensemble piece staged at Bridport’s recycling centre that explores how a group of unacquainted individuals react (or don't react!) when someone breaches the social fabric of the centre. Shot in February 2019 the piece brought together many of Chasing Cow’s members and was partly what inspired the collective to come together.
The evening will include a Q&A with the artists and producers giving you a chance to find out more about the group and the filmmaking process from first draft to final cut. Also featuring sneak peeks and discussions about their upcoming projects for 2020.
There will also be a performance of folk-inspired live music from their soundtracks, by Bryony Moores O’Sullivan and Grace Crabtree.
Doors & bar open 7:30pm for a prompt 8pm start. Pay what you feel on the night, please bring cash.
